What are batch systems?
Early computers were physically huge machines run from a console. The general input devices were card readers and tape drivers. The common output devices were tape drivers, line printers, and cardpunches. The user didn't interact directly with the computer systems. Somewhat, the user prepared a job which consisted of the data, the program, and some control information about the nature of the job (control cards) - and submitted it to the computer operator .The job was typically in the form of punch cards. The output appeared following some later time (after minutes, hours or days). The output consisted of the end result of the program as well as a dump of the final memory and register contents for the debugging.
- To accelerate processing, operators batched collectively jobs with similar needs and ran them through the computer as a group. Therefore, the programmers would run off their program with the operator. The operator would arrange programs into batches with similar requirements and as the computer became available, would run each batch. The output from every job would be sent back to the appropriate programmer.
What are the operations of processes? Process creation A process may create several new processes. The creating process is called as parent process, where as the new proce

Define Enforcing Modularity for C Additionally, in C it is sometimes necessary to create modularity of design. C++ is very natural model for component based application design
Write a C program that illustrates the creation of child process using fork system call. One process finds sum of even series and other process finds sum of odd series.
Page Fault Handling conditions like, where the copy on write bit of a page is set and that page is send by more than one process, the Kernel assign new page and copies the conten

What is indexed allocation? Every file has its own block of pointers to the sectors of the file.
Q. Presume that you have a page-reference string for a process with m frames (initially all empty). The page-reference string has length p along with n distinct page numbers
What is paging? Name the different paging techniques. Paging is a memory management method that permits the physical-address space of a process to be noncontiguous. Paging evad
