Welding of pressure parts in boilers, Mechanical Engineering

Assignment Help:

This section covers welding of pressure parts including those non-pressure parts when welded to pressure parts. All welding design functions necessary within the contract shall be the responsibility of the fabricator, unless expressly stated otherwise within the specification.

Welding procedures, processes, materials, welders and welding equipment and practices shall satisfy the requirements of this section and ASME Section IX.

The fabricator shall prepare a "Weld Map" and fully detailed drawings showing welded connections, weld symbols in accordance with AWS Std. A2.4, latest revision and joint preparations including tolerances. Reference to the applicable welding procedure specification number shall be made for each weld.

Welding shall not be performed until welding procedures and qualifications are reviewed and approved.

Notwithstanding conformance to applicable design codes, regulations or industrial practices, WorleyParsons Canada reserves the right to reject any procedure specification which does not comply with ASEM Section IX, latest edition requirements.

In the event of repetitive standard welding, WorleyParsons Canada reserves the right to witness welding procedures, performance qualifications and or ask the replacement of the welders.
