Watergate caused a loss of political idealism describe, History

Assignment Help:

Many historians argue that Watergate caused a loss of political idealism and a decline in the prestige of public office. Do you agree or disagree?
The private life of presidents and most other government officials is under increased scrutiny by the voting public. And yet only a few decades ago very few would have dared delve into anyone's private life under the same circumstances. Does the public have a right to know everything about an officeholder, or only things that affect an officeholder's job directly? Where do you draw the line?
