Vulcanization of rubber

The procedure of heating natural rubber with sulphur to enhance its properties is known as vulcanization. Vulcanization was illustrated by Charles Goodyear. Even though natural rubber is thermoplastic substance where there are no cross link among the polymer chain and it on vulcanization set into a specified shape that is retained.
