VITAMIN - C

  1. Also known as ascorbic acid / anti viral vitamin / anti cancer vitamin / anti rabies vitamin / anti scurvy vitamin.
  2. It is the earliest known vitamin.
  3. It gives resistance against cold and virus.
  4. It is the vitamin which destroy on cooking.
  5. It is excreted in urine.
  6. It is necessary for healing of the wound.
  7. It is essential for formation of collagen fibres, cartilage, teeth, connective tissue & RBC.
  8. It is vitamin for normal heart beat.
  9. Sources are citrous fruits (Amulla, tomato, orange).
  10. Deficiency of vitamin C causes scurvy (falling of gums, bleeding in gum, loosing of teeth, falling of teeth).
