The variable resistor is a resistor whose value can be accustomed by turn a shaft or sliding a control. They are also referred to as potentiometers or rheostats and permit the resistance of the device to be altered by hand. A rheostat is a variable resistor with two terminals, one sliding and one fixed. It is utilized with high currents. The term rheostat is usually reversed for higher-powdered device, above about ½ watt. A potentiometer is a common type of variable resistor; one common use is as volume controls on audio amplifiers and other forms of amplifiers.
CLASSIFICATIONOF VARIABLE RESISTORS:
These resistors can be categorized on the basis of material used and application. On the basis of application they are known as the general purpose and they are of precision type. But on the basis of resistive material they are categorized as:
(a) Carbon composition resistors
(b) Wire wound resistors
(c) Cermets resistors
(d) Multi-turn resistors
(e) Multi-turn potentiometers
moment of inertia theory
It is the ratio of the internal electric field induced by the charges on the surface on the dielectric when an external field applied to the polarization of the dielectric.
How do you make a model of a free body diagram for a science project?
Radioactive Decay Series The sequential decay of a given nucleus results in the production of a series of nuclei or elements. This series of elements thus formed is known as a
Current time base generator
Differentiate between teporary and permanent magnet
Explain the Adding Waves? When two waves come from the same light source, the light waves are coherent, meaning that the phase difference between the waves is constant in time.
Q. Illustrate why is there more friction when you push an object than when you pull it? Answer:- Friction doesn't differ depending upon whether an object is pushed or pull
when told that a diffraction grating has 80 lines per mm we need to work out what 1 line would equal. I have the solution but i cannot figure out how they got 1 line to equal 1x10
The topic for the project is Newton's Law of Cooling, although you may choose a different title. The aim is to research how the temperature of a hot object is lost when it is kept
