Q. Ultrasonic Examination?

Ultrasonic examination, UT and the acceptance criteria shall be in accordance with the Code and performed in accordance with written procedures.

Where full radiography of nozzle neck or stub-to-drum or header welding is specified on the boiler data sheet and radiographic interpretation is questionable owing to the weld configuration, then such areas shall be examined by UT.

When nozzles with reinforcement pads require UT, weldment shall be examined prior to fitting the pads.
