Types of Refresh Monitors - Raster Scan and Random Scan

There are two types of refresh monitors, i.e. the Raster Scan and Random Scan that will be illustrated separately.

Note:

1)  Within a Random Scan System, the Display buffer stores the picture information. Further, the device is able of producing pictures invented of lines but not of curves. Therefore, it is also termed as "Line display device or Vector display device or Calligraphic display device".

2) Within a Raster Scan System, the Frame buffer stores the picture information that is the bit plane along with m rows and n columns. Due to this type of storage the system is able of producing realistic images although the restriction is the line segments that may not show to be smooth.
