In writing a 3 part essay on excerpts from books 1 and 3 of Herodotus' "The Persian Wars" I am supposed to present how (1) he was a meticulous, fact-based historian, (2) how he was counter-factual, often relying on story telling and fantasy filled tall tales, and to (3) come to a common middle ground between these two extremes.
