Q. Explain with the help of a circuit diagram,the operation of COLPITTS OSCILLATOR.

Oscillator is a circuit used to generate a.c voltage without a.c.input signal.The energy to generate a.c.voltage is supplied from a d.c.source.If the output voltage is a sine wave,the oscillator is called sinusoidal or harmonic oscillator.There is also another type of oscillator called relaxation oscillator which generates voltages or currents which vary abruptly one or more times in a cycle of oscillation.
