Database Management Systems are very difficult, sophisticated software applications that give reliable management of huge amounts of data. There are two dissimilar ways to look at the architecture of a DBMS: the physical DBMS architecture and the logical DBMS architecture. The physical architecture is deals with the software components that create up a DBMS while the logical architecture deals with the way data is stored and presented to users.
