Summary of Accident Causation
In the light of above theories it is concluded that the decision of workers to work safe is largely influenced by external factors such as meeting deadline, satisfying demands from coworkers, attempting to use of impaired machinery, pressure from supervisor. The internal factors like emotional stresses, personal problems, worry, habits of drugs and alcohol may also enhance chances of accidents. Need of supervision, training, strict conformity of machinery and processes may also become the cause of accidents. It may, though, be noted that in all the theories error committed by worker, coworker, supervisor or management could play causative role for accident to take place.
