State the Preparation of Patient for GTT
1. You should explain to the patient about the purpose and procedure of the test to be carried out and advise that:
a) the patient should take a daily diet with carbohydrate (150-300 gm) for 3 days preceding the test.
b) fasting is required for at least 8 - 10 hours before the test and not more than 16 hours.
