State the goals of Neuropsychological assessment
Neuropsychological assessment therefore has twin goals.
i) The first goal is to recognize the disrupted psychological components/ processes/domains in an individual patient and arrive at a profile of adequacies and deficits of psychological functions.
ii) The second goal is to recognize the brain structures/ functional networks, which are dysfunctional or damaged using the neuropsychological profile that has previously been derived. Lastly, this information is used to lateralise and localise the bran lesion.
