State the functions of a fuse, Electrical Engineering

Assignment Help:

State the functions of a fuse.

Fuse is a protective device that made of a thin wire or strip. This strip or wire is placed with the circuit this has to protect, therefore the circuit-current flows through this. While this current is too huge, and heat produced because of I2Rt exceeds the melting point of the fuse, therefore fuse wire or strip melts thus breaking the circuit and interrupting the power supply.
