Over the years it has been believed that repolarization in ventricular ectopic beats had no diagnostic significance. Because most patients do not have PVCs during exercise, testing limits its value somewhat; ST depression greater than 10 per cent of the R-wave amplitude is predictive of an ischaemia response.
