The dental technique will have modified the abutment to the desired shape and will now be able to fabricate the transitional restoration from acrylic directly on the abutment. Such a restoration will fit precisely and will not need re-lining the contours of the restoration, as it emerges from the gingival tissues it may need to be modified in order to create the desired profile.
Manipulating the soft tissues with the transitional restoration if facilitated by the use of acrylic as the material of choice, which can be easily reduced or built up as required.
