Q. Show the Functions of wet wells?

Wetwells are designed to store provisionallysewage/water before it is pumped out. They are generally provided for sewage and stormwater pumping stations and they serve the below functions: 

(i)  They help in attenuating the fluctuations of flow due to the diurnal variation of sewage discharge.

(ii) Wetwells serve as sump pits where suction pipes are inserted and fluid level in sumps can be used for the control of opening and closure of pumps.
