Write short note on glycogen storage diseases.

Glycogen storage diseases are caused by genetic defects  that  result in deficiencies in certain enzymes of glycogen metabolism. These deficiencies lead to excessive accumulation of glycogen and  or the inability  to use that glycogen  as  a  fuel source. The structure  of glycogen may also be abnormal.
