1. A screw gauge consists of U- shaped metallic frame F. To one end of this frame, a flat shaft is fixed. On the opposite end of a hollow long cylinder C is fixed.2. The hollow cylinder has fine threads cut inside it and it serves as the nut.On the outer surface of this hollow cylinder, a line parallel to its axis, called index line is drawn and is divided into some equal divisions (1 mm or 0.5 mm). This serves as the pitch scale (P).3. A screw with a flat tip (shaft) having threads exactly identical to the threads cut inside the cylinder, moves through the cylinder C. To the other end of the screw, a milled head M is connected.4. To this milled head one end of a barrel B (another hollow cylinder) is connected. This Barrel B forms a jacket to the first hollow cylinder C.5. The other end of the barrel is tapered and has 100 or 50 equal divisions on it. This is called the head scale (H).6. When the two flat shafts exactly opposite to each other , are in contact, the distance between them is zero. In this position, the edge of the head scale must coincide with the zeroth division of the pitch scale.Further, the index line will be coinciding with the zero of the head scale
Determinism principle It is the principle that if one knows the state to an infinite accuracy of a system at one point in time, one would be capable to know about the state of
Vectors Representing Forces A force can be represented by a vector (drawn as an arrow). The arrow's length is related to the size of the force and the arrow's direction shows y
Q. Explain Mirror - Lens Equation? A central equation in optics relates the focal length, object distance and image distance for a thin lens or mirror. This equation is general
Ionisation: If the amount of external energy is large enough the valence electron can gain sufficient kinetic energy (energy of movement) to be removed completely from its atom
Light is quantized. Photons are light quanta. It has zero REST mass. Therefore, it always travels at maximum speed permitted by relativity
tau-theta paradox (1950s): While two distinct types of kaons, tau & theta (today tau is a completely different particle) decay, tau decays in three particles, whereas the thet
Determine about the Stacking fault Stacking faults happen in a number of crystal structures, but the common example is in close-packed structures. Face-cantered cubic (f
