Another arithmetic operation that we wish to look at is scalar multiplication. Specified the vector a^→ = (a₁, a₂, a₃) and any number c the scalar multiplication is,

ca^→ = (ca₁, ca₂, ca₃)

Thus, we multiply all the components by the constant c.
