There are various reasons for increased popularity of dental implants. With the rapid development and evolution of implants, they have made a enormous niche for themselves in the field of dentistry and have succeeded in fulfilling the goal of modern dentistry. The goal of modern dentistry is to restore the patient to normal contour, function, comfort, esthetics, speech and health regardless of the atrophy, disease or injury of the stomatognathic system. With the continued efforts to bring in a revolutionary change in dentistry, implants have evolved as an innovative answer to these problems. As a result of continued research in treatment planning, implant designs, materials and techniques, predictable success is now a reality for the rehabilitation of many challenging clinical situations. Compared to all other dental disciplines, implant dentistry has enjoyed for more innovation and progressive development in recent years. Indeed in this regard are the developments of new implant systems, the propagation of new and improved diagnostic procedures and the introduction of novel surgical techniques. Technical procedures have also advanced from the introduction of state of the art CADCAM technology to improve prosthodontic precision of fit and allow restoration of implants in non-ideal positions. Thus there has been a tremendous increase in the number of implants placed today and answers the reason for its increased popularity
