Reaction involving cleavage of with removal of 'H' as proton

Alcohols are stronger acids as compared to terminal acetylene but are not acidic enough to react along with aqueous KOH or NaOH. Acidic behavior is in the order.

Acidic behavior of alcohol reduces with increase of alkyl groups on - OH bonded carbon because of +I (inductive) effect of alkyl group.
