Reaction due to ethernal oxygen

(a) The boiling point of peroxide is higher as compared to that of ether. It is not present as remains in the distillation of ether and may reason explosion. Hence ether can never be vaporized to dryness.

(b) Absolute ether can be ready by distillation of ordinary ether from conc.  and subsequent storing above metallic sodium.
