The purpose of Organizational Behavior will be discussed based on its importance or relevance to the organization.

1. The knowledge Organizational Behavior helps one to understand better how he/she and others relate within organizations.  

2. Studying of OB equips the manager with the theoretical and pragmatic tools that can enable one to find and create the answers to questions that come up against a member, employee and manager of an organization. It helps one to understand better and come to terms with the complexities of the world of work.

3. OB helps to explain to explain, predict and control human behavior within organizations.

4. It equips managers with skills and it makes them competent. Since they always get things done through others they must have good communication skills, motivate to achieve good results.

5. Both managers and non-managers need a solid grounding in OB. It is a discipline that cuts across every job category - small or large, public or private organizations.

6. Organizational Behavior helps managers to cope in a world of "temporariness" and learn ways to stimulate innovation.

7. OB can offer managers guidance in creating an ethically healthy work climate.

8. It helps managers to see the value of workforce diversity and practices.
