Protein Synthesis with DNA
The central dogma of modern biochemistry is totally based on the coded information holded within deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA). Double stranded DNA is rehabilitated to single stranded RNA. RNA is then converted to a linear strand of amino acids that subsequently fold within three-dimensional proteins. These proteins act as structural components of cells inside the body or as functional biochemical machines. The building of cellular proteins from the encoded instructions inside DNA occurs within two steps: translation and transcription.
The first step of the purification of an integral membrane protein is to disrupt its interactions with other integral proteins and the lipids in the membrane. This is commonly ach
