Explain Precautions for Determination of Fungal and Yeast Count?

1. Maintain aseptic conditions.

2. Keep alcohol away from flame.

3. To avoid infections and allergies, care should be taken while handling the plates containing yeast and moulds.

4. Calculations should be made only from appropriate countable plates.

5. Avoid transferring food particles from the homogenized sample into dilution tubes and on the agar plates (presence of food particles on agar medium masks the colonies).
