Preadmission Preparation  

Preadmission preparation is most effective when the admission is planned and there is enough time for the nurse to provide necessary information to  the family and to make sure that they understand  it. The child's parent should be the main  interpreter and facilitator of  information for the child. Through direct participation in  learning about what hospitalization will be like, the parents may find their own anxiety somewhat alleviated.
