Physical properties of Iodoform or tri-iodomethane

(a) Iodoform is a yellow crystalline solid.

(b) Iodoform has a pungent characteristic odour.

(c) Iodoform is not soluble with water but soluble in organic solvents such as alcohol, ether, etc.

(d) Iodoform has melting point 119°C. It is steam volatile.
