Physical properties of Aromatic Nitro Compounds

(a) Aromatic nitro compounds are insoluble in water although soluble in organic solvents.

(b) They are either pale yellow liquids or solids comprising distinct smells. For instance, nitro benzene (oil of Mirabane) is a pale yellow liquid comprising a smell of bitter almonds.
