Photon absorption for IR spectroscopy

Absorption spectroscopy refers to spectroscopic methods which measure the absorption of radiation, as a function of frequency or wavelength, because of its interaction along with a sample. The sample absorbs energy that is photons, which is the radiating field. The strength of the absorption varies as a function of frequency and this variation is the absorption spectrum. The Absorption spectroscopy is performing across the electromagnetic spectrum.
