Photometer
Photometer (Figure shown below) measures the intensity of light. The metallic plate A is a photocell which emits electrons from its surface when light of sufficient frequency impinges Wpon it. The emission of electrons emerging from the irradiated surface constitute the current. This current is measured by a sensitive ammeter which is calibrated to give the amount of current generated as the value of light intensity in metre candle.
