PESTEL framework

This technique is helpful for any organization to consider its environment before beginning and it is significant to use it in future environmental factors, because maybe it will change. The International Medical Center is concerned with its relationship with the Saudi government; this is because the International Medical Center reflects government trends and prospects for future development in healthcare. The economics of Saudi Arabia depend on oil; it is produced at approximately 11 million bbl/day (Index Mundi, 2008). Over the last 10 years, Saudi Arabia has tried to develop it economy by focusing on health care. Also, the economic recovery in the Kingdom, which reflected positively on the International Medical Center, enabled them to provide health services at a high level of quality. The technology in the IMC is a significant issue which endeavors to ensure that the equipment used for patient care is safe, available, and accurate. This happens through a full spectrum of technology management program from notion through disposal. The International Medical Center has formed many partnerships with international clinics such as Cleveland Clinic (CC). The partnership with the Cleveland Clinic includes expertise, telemedicine referrals, procedures, second opinions, and policy. CC is one of top three hospitals in the US, and is a leader in cancer treatments, digestive disorders, orthopedics, neuroscience, pediatrics, and other specialties. IMC uses teleconferencing and telecommunications to provide prompt service and new and specialized treatment for patients. In addition, they use this technology to provide learning to the doctors. Because the religion of the Middle East is Islam, the hospital has been designed for and provides services to suit the Muslim community. The population in Saudi Arabia is more than 28 million (Sfakianakis, 2008) and statisticians expect it will reach more than 29 million after two years. This vast population growth creates a need for more advanced hospitals such as IMC to provide better health service. IMC needs to take into account the building and construction, because the weather in Saudi Arabia is too hot. Also, its geographical location is near to the holy cities Maddinah and Makkah.
