The main objectives of study of ecology are:
(i) To study the distribution of biota local and geographical level.
(ii) To study the interrelationship of organism in population and in diverse communities.
(iii) To study development of organisms during the course of evolution.
(iv) To study structural and functional adaptation of organisms with their environment.
(v) To study energy flow and biological productivity in natural ecosystem.
(vi) The most important objective is to apply knowledge gained from ecological study to safe guard against disasters caused by human activities like deforestation, environment pollution, population explosion etc.
