Shape - Oval

Position - Situated in cranial cavity of skull. Medulla oblongeta comes out of foramen magnum in the form of spinal cord.

Colour - Light yellow.

Weight - It forms 98% weight of CNS. 1200-1400 gm. and has 100 billion neurons.

Matter -

Grey matter is outer and white matter is inner in cerebrum, roof of mid brain & cerebellum.

In rest grey matter is inner.

Olfactory lobes are made up of grey matter only.
