The nature of Organizational Behavior will be evaluated based on its effectiveness and the impact it is making.
1. Organizational Behaviour is Multidisciplinary: This means that, it utilizes principles, models, theories and methods from other disciplines. Organizational Behaviour tries to integrate the relevant knowledge drawn from related disciplines like psychology, sociology and anthropology to make them applicable for studying and analyzing organizational behavior.
2. Organizational Behaviour Adopts a Total Systems Approach: The systems approach is one that integrates all the variables affecting or organizational functioning. The systems have been developed by the behavioural scientists to analyze human behavior within socio-psychological framework. The systems approach tries to study the complexity of man's socio-psychological framework and finds solutions to it.
3. Organizational Behaviour Adopts Humanistic and Optimistic Approach: This means that OB is based on the belief that people have an innate desire to be independent, creative and productive. It also realizes that people working in an organization can and will actualize these potentials if they are given the appropriate conditions and environment. It treats people as thinking and feeling human beings.
