There are three categories of multiplexing

a. Frequency Division Multiplexing (FDM)

b. Time Division Multiplexing (TDM)

   i. Synchronous TDM

   ii. ASynchronous TDM Or Statistical TDM.

c. Wave Division Multiplexing (WDM)
