Molecular Formula

Molecular formula of a substance provides the actual number of atoms that present in one molecule of the substance.

Molecular formula = n * Empirical formula

In which n is a simple integer 1, 2, 3,...... etc. illustrated by the equation,

n = Molecular mass of the compound / Empirical formula mass of the compound

in which the molecular mass of the compound is defined experimentally by any one of the methods discussed previously, empirical formula mass is measured by adding the atomic masses of all the atoms exist in the empirical formula.
