Micrometer Simulation

A Micrometer is used to measure the external dimensions of objects that are 3 cm or smaller, this provides precise measurements to inside 0.01 mm.

The object to be measured should be placed in the gap among the anvil and the spindle. At the opposite end there is a little ratchet along with that the thimble should be rotated. The ratchet ensures in which the thread is not over-tightened.

The sleeve has a ruler engraved on it that reads to the nearest half millimetre. The thimble also has a 'circular ruler' engraved on it. This studies to the nearest 1/100th of a millimetre.
