The devices in power system shown in Figure 2 have the following ratings:

G1 : 100 MVA, 13.8 kV grounded Y, X” = 0.15 pu, X2 = 0.015 pu Xo = 0.05 pu
G2 : 50 MVA, 20.0 kV grounded Y, X” = 0.15 pu, X2 = 0.015 pu Xo = 0.05 pu
T1 : 100 MVA, 13.8/138 kV (both grounded), X1 = 0.08 pu, X2 = 0.08 pu Xo = 0.08 pu
T2 : 50 MVA, 20.0/138 kV, ?-Y grounded Y, X1 = 0.08 pu, X2 = 0.08 pu Xo = 0.08 pu
L1 : 100 MVA, 138 kV grounded X1 = 19 ?, X2 = 19 ?, Xo = 50 ?,

Assume that all resistances in the power system can be neglected. The system base apparent power is ____ (to be specified by your lecturer)MVA, and the base line voltage is 13.8 kV at bus 1. Assume that the voltage at bus 1 is 13.8 kV and that the power system is initially unloaded.

2. Use Matlab to:

a. Find the sub transient per-phase equivalent circuits of this power system for positive-, negative- and zero-sequence component.

b. Find the subtransient fault current at the fault found at the location indicated by X for:



i) A symmetrical three-phase fault
ii) A single line-to-ground fault
iii) A line-to-line fault
iv) A double line-to-ground fault

(A student will solving for the transient fault line current for two (2) types of fault to be specified by the lecturer).
