Q. Material Selection for Insulation in Personnel Protection?

Material for 15ºC to 650ºC temp range is Calcium Silicate (ASTM C533, Type 1), Manville Thermo-12 or approved equivalent.

Material for -175ºC to 482ºC temp range is Cellular Glass (Pittsburgh Corning Foamglass or approved equivalent) and shall be used for piping or equipment, exposed to water (condensation, rain, spray from process, etc.), in intermittent hot service.
