Making leaf collections

Collect young leaves of as many varieties of plants as possible. Place various layers of news- paper or blotting paper on a firm, smooth board. Next organize the leaves so they do not touch. Cover the leaves with other layers of newspaper or blotting paper. Place another board on top and then place various heavy stones or weights on the board. Keep the leaves in the press until they are thoroughly dried. When the leaves are removed from the press they may be neatly in order on note book pages and secured either with Scotch tape or small sections of gummed labels. The name of the leaf and any other exciting material can be recorded on the note book page.
