Non-state actors include, but are not limited to, organizations like the United Nations, aid organizations like Oxfam, financial institutions like the World Bank, corporations, and social movements. Please select from one of the following major global events that occurred within the last year: the protests and organized action in the Near East, the creation of the new country of South Sudan, or the global financial crisis and answer the following questions:

1. Can you identify the major non-state actors involved in the chosen event?

2. What were the contributions of the non-state actors involved in the event?

3.Since power is vital to the understanding of world politics, what were the interests of these non-state actors and how did their power or lack of power in the global theater affect the outcome of these events?
