Indicate all that is incorrect about the statement The magnetic field lines of a stationary bar magnet move from the north pole of the bar magnet to the south pole of the bar magnet.
Answer:
Magnetic field lines subsist in the vicinity of a magnet. They do contain direction. Each magnetic field line is a closed loop. Beginning at the south pole of a bar magnet a magnetic field line is directed from the south pole to the north pole inside the magnet as well as out through the north end of the magnet. From there is directed beside a curved path which takes it back into the magnet via the south pole of the magnet thus completing the loop.
If one declares that the magnetic field extends from the south pole of the magnet to the north pole of the magnet it important to say that this is the case inside the magnet. If one declares that the magnetic field extends from the north pole of the magnet to the south pole of the magnet it important to say that this is the case outside the magnet.
