Locate the position of the submerged implants. It can be located by the following means:
- correlating the radiographs with intraoral position
- on slight palpation of soft tissue the implant head can be felt
- there is a grayish hue in the tissue over the implant, when the tissue thickness is less.
- If the implant has been placed using a guide / stent then the same guide may be replaced back in the oral cavity and the implant head can be marked out.
