i) Sources of Generation: As discussed in Unit 1, the researchers and their employing oreganisations are responsible for generating information The outputs are in the form of research papers and reports.
ii) The Primary Publications System: The most important component of this system is the primary journal which publishes outputs of research as research papers. iv) Facilitators of Information Transmission: Although researchers have access to both the primary and secondary publications, they also need intermediaries which can link them to the right sources at the right time.
