Isomerization of dihydroxyacetone phosphate

Isomerization  of  dihydroxyacetone phosphate: Triosephosphate isomerase interconverts  dihydroxyacetone phosphate and  glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate. Dihydroxyacetone phosphate must be isomerized  to glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate for further metabolism in the glycolytic sequence. This isomerization  results in  the production oftwo molecules of glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate  from  the cleavage of fructose-l,6-bisphosphate
