Isomerism - Organic Chemistry
Organic substance comprising the same molecular reaction but differing from each other at least in some physical or chemical properties or both are termed as isomers (Berzelius) and the phenomenon is termed as isomerism.
The dissimilarity in properties of isomers is because of the difference in the relative arrangements of several atoms or groups present in their atoms. Isomerism can be categorized as follows:
