Is transpiration the only way through which leaves lose water?
Plants do not only lose water as vapor, as by transpiration. The leaves also lose liquid water by a phenomenon called as gutation. Gutation takes place by structures called hydathodes similar to stomata. Gutation mainly happens when transpiration is difficult because of high air humidity or when the plant is placed in a watery soil.
