The project ‘Syringe Management Plan' is created to protect the community against misplace of syringe that causes accidental needle injury. This project is introduce as there is no such plan previously and now we feel that there is a need to do so in order to protect the society and to reduce the injuries occur from this section of accident. In 1988, the council has first developed an ‘Illicit Drug Strategy' and also received a funding from the government to respond on illicit drug use. It was the time where in Footscray and some other places in Melbourne, the heroin use and dealing was escalating (Dumble, L). However, this comes to an end in December 2003. This, therefore continue to be the problem in the local community. We, as part of the council cannot extinguish people from doing drug but we can decrease the rate of injuries or diseases. In this way, the council play a role in taking corporate responsibility towards the community in Maribyrnong. Besides, to provide help to the needy and to educate people with the correct knowledge regarding the management of used syringe and needle (City of Yarra, 2011). On the other hand, due to the limited budget, we will try ways to make this project a success in the meantime making sure that this project does not exceed the funding of $1 million.
